West LA Math & Science and West LA General Classrooms & Student Services Projects are the newest and most technologically equipped buildings for the LACCD. Contracted under respected general contractor SDI Inc. R&F provided complete design build automatic fire sprinkler system for the two projects that consist of two separate buildings each. R&F Fire Protection successfully completed the combined 120 thousand sq. ft. project at an affordable rate.
The Miracle Mile project was one of the most recent additions to R&F’s portfolio of high-end condominiums. R&F contracted with American Multi-family to take on one of the largest mid-rise condo projects for Legacy Partners. This project consisted of a 286-unit sophisticated condominiums; the Miracle mile project is a 6-story building with over 3 levels of subterranean parking with 750 gallons per minute (GPM) electric fire pump, as back up source for the fire sprinkler system.
This is one of the largest and most expensive schools builds in So. Cal. The project broke ground in 2008, R&F was selected by the project’s general contractor (Suffolk Construction Inc.) to utilize the most advanced design software to design then build the 200,000 sq. ft. high school. R&F’s engineering team designed the project using Navisworks Manage and 3D Building Information Modeling software to design-build the new high school. R&F successfully completed the contract in April 2011.
Restoration of this historic building was a very challenging experience but R&F executed successfully. Swinerton Builders was the prime on the project; R&F was a part of this team as the design-build fire sprinkler contractor of choice. The unique feature about the project was that all of its historical ceilings had to maintain “as-is” status. R&F successfully completed the project in 2006 and ensured 100% fire sprinkler coverage in all units and subterranean parking garage with a 1,000 GPM Diesel Fire Pump. The Subway Terminal is now known as the Metro 417 with over 400 residential units and is considered one of Los Angeles’ most luxurious and distinctive apartment communities.
In 2003 Swinerton Builders was awarded a contract as the prime contractor to bring the almost 100 year old Los Angeles building back to life by turning it into Apartment complex. Los Angeles’ legendary Subway Terminal #2, a 14-story high structure, and 4-stories below ground was converted into Condo Units. R&F was hired as a subcontractor to provide a complete fire sprinkler system and fire pump upgrade. During the past 90 years, the terminal housed offices of many federal departments other than just being the subway station; some of these offices were the Social Security department and Veterans Administration.
Marina Del Rey Shores – 544 Class A Multi-Family Units. The Shores is the single largest HUD funded project in the history of Housing Urban Development, the over $110 million project is located at Marina Del Ray, CA. The Shores project was awarded to R&F by American Multi-family to design and install fire sprinkler systems for the complete 533 Unit on 500,000 sq. ft. of space. The structure is 5 Stories high constructed on a subterranean parking structure. The 12-building complex is scheduled to be completed in 24 months.
Swinerton Builders and MJW Constructed the project in 3 Phases; as the sub-contractor of choice, R&F was involved in all the Phases as the Design-Build Fire Sprinkler Contractor. The 3-Phased projects consisted of over 1,200 units with complete square footage of 600,000 sq. ft. which includes a subterranean parking garage and two 750 gallons per minute (GPM) electric Fire Pumps. R&F successfully completed the ninebuilding project.
